This should go down well with all the sweet-tooths on St Patrick’s Day – a Guinness Chocolate Cake with Bailey’s Buttercream.
We can’t imagine a more perfect and delicious treat.
A video from ‘In The Kitchen With Jonny’ takes viewers through the process of making the cake in a fun and easy to follow manner.
It is a two-part process, with Jonny fist talking us through making the cake, and then the Bailey’s Buttercream.
After the two separate aspects of the cake have been completed, Jonny then cuts the Guinness chocolate cake in half, so he can spread a generous helping of Baily’s Buttercream frosting over the centre.
He then places pieces of chocolate cake back on top of each other and the end result looks absolutely mouth-watering.
We certainly can’t wait to get home and give it a try.
IngredientsFor the Guinness Chocolate cake
- 1-3/4 cup all purpose flour, sifted
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 cups of white sugar
- 3/4 cup butter
- 1 cup Guinness extra stout
- 2/3 cup sour cream
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
For the Bailey’s Buttercream
- 1 (1 lb/16oz) box of powdered sugar
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) of butter
- 3-4 Tbsp bailey’s
