The recipe was submitted by a user called BaWhite who said: “A new twist for mashed potatoes. I usually add a dash of onion and garlic powder. I also do a taste test prior to baking to see if they need more salt. Potatoes are combined with cream cheese, sour cream, chives, butter, and paprika…Delicious!”

How to make potato and chive casserole

Ingredients:

  • 8 potatoes
  • Cream cheese (8 ounces)
  • Sour cream (8 ounces)
  • ½ cup of butter
  • ½ teaspoon of salt
  • ¼ cup of fresh chives
  • Pinch of paprika

Take the following steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
  • Peel and cube potatoes
  • Place potatoes in large pot of water
  • Heat pot to boiling point, cover and reduce heat to medium low
  • Simmer until tender -drain after 20 minutes
  • Place the hot potatoes, cream cheese, sour cream, butter, and salt in a large bowl. Mix and mash until the dish is creamy
  • Place the mixture into a casserole dish and sprinkle with chives and paprika
  • Bake in oven for 30 minutes until it is bubbling
