This is the moment a woman saved the life of a baby dolphin that had become stranded on an Irish beach.
The dolphin had swam too close to the shore on Seapoint Beach, Co Louth and couldn’t get back into the sea.
It was distressed as it lay on the sand with the water too shallow to swim.
Luckily Jenni Hänninen happened to be horse riding with her friends on the beach while this was going on.
Jenni, who is originally from Finland, leapt off her horse and rushed over to the distressed dolphin as her pal filmed the action.
She picked it up and carried it out to sea until the water was deep enough for the dolphin to swim away.
Thankfully Jenni had got there just in time.
Dolphins aren’t the only species to have taken to Irish beaches during this heatwave.
Cows also headed to the beach in Co Sligo this week for a spot of sunbathing.
However, dolphins really are more at home in the sea and thankfully there was a good Samaritan on the scene for the dolphin in Co Lough.
