A YouTuber has created a hilarious cartoon that gives a wonderfully accurate insight into Irish family life.
Martin’s Life is a series of minute-long cartoon sketches, based on typical conversations between Irish kids and their parents.
The first video, Game of Thrones, shows Martin watching the smash fantasy show. His dad asks him what he’s watching and who’s in it, but can’t seem to gain a full understanding of the answers despite being repeatedly corrected by a patient Martin.
It is a conversation many teenagers and young adults from anywhere will recognise, if their parents have ever asked them about a current TV show or music band.
The other video, It’s a Small World, sees Martin telling his Irish Mammy that he has been into town for a haircut.
She is surprised to hear that such an event has taken place, and when he adds that he saw Uncle John in town she can hardly believe it, even though Uncle John lives in town. Isn’t it a small world?
Both videos really capture a typical conversation amongst Irish families.
Little is known about the creator of ‘Martin’s Life’, whose YouTube name is Ham and Carrots. It is a fair bet that Ham and Carrots is a talented young Irish fella writing from experience, and may well be destined for bigger things in the future.
