Irishman sets up Instagram account for the worst pints of Guinness in London

An Irishman living in London has created an Instagram account to showcase the worst poured pints of Guinness he has been served in the English capital.

As all lovers of the iconic Irish drink will know, there is a proper way to pour a pint of the black stuff.

Guinness has even created an advert in the past to demonstrate the exact process needed to pour the perfect pint.

All good things come to those who wait if you remember…

However, it would appear that some bar staff in London are not willing to wait the necessary time to pour the perfect pint of Guinness.

And one Irishman decided that enough was enough. Ian, from Cork, created the bluntly named Instagram account @shitlondonguinness to showcase the lack of care being applied in England’s capital to Ireland’s most famous drink.

He has posted up several photos of below standard pints he has been served.

There are various offences being committed by the bar staff of London towards the pint of Guinness.

They range from giving the pint too much of a foamy head, not allowing it enough time to settle, and possibly worst of all – serving a Guinness in anything other than its own iconic glass.

The Instagram account now has more than 17,000 followers, and others are sending in their own pictures of sub-standard pints.

Ian said: “I’ve lived in London for a couple of years and I’ve tweeted a few photos of bad Guinness in the past.

“People are interested. It’s just a bit of a laugh, it doesn’t really annoy me and there’s no malice.

“You just never know what you’re going to get when you order a pint of Guinness here.

“I just laugh whenever I get served one of these – the ones with the big head are more like, yeah, at least you tried, but the ones with the slim head are just ridiculous.

“Probably the most sacrilegious thing is putting Guinness in a cider glass. But you know, it’s just one of those things. I’ve never sent a pint back. I don’t wanna cause any fuss. I just deal with it.”
