A groom chose an unusual venue for his wedding when he was given sole responsibility of organising the most happy day of his and his new wife’s lives.
Dubliner Ben McQuillan and his fiancé Celina were the stars of the first episode of the latest series of RTÉ’S Don’t Tell the Bride.
The show features a couple planning their wedding, with the catch being that all the details are left to the man, with the bride being kept in the dark about her big day.
It can often throw up some comical scenes, and Ben certainly came up with a less-than-expected venue for his wedding.
The pair exchanged their vows in the Dublin branch of Swedish furniture store Ikea.
Ben explained he chose the store because it is the only place he and Celina ever fight so he wanted to turn it into a place with happy memories for them.
Despite a few hiccups for the happy couple, such as Ben failing buy a dress with enough space for pregnant Celina’s bump, it all worked out well in the end.
There was even a re-enactment of the scene from rom-com Love Actually, with Ben visiting Celina at her front door, with large cards inviting her to her wedding.
