An Irish singer was given high praise from Welsh legend Tom Jones as she appeared on UK talent show The Voice.
Elly O’Keeffe also reduced her father to tears with her stunning performance of the song River by Leon Bridges.
The show format sees four judges sat with their back to the stage as the performer sings their song, so as not to make a decision based on their appearance.
The judges then spin their seat around if the feel the singer’s voice is strong enough.
As O’Keeffe stood on the stage, armed only with an acoustic guitar and her magnificent voice, she sang River and her friends and family became visibly moved.
During the performance, three of the four judges spun around, much to the delight of O’Keeffe’s entourage.
The judges then had to sell themselves to her as they wanted to build the strongest possible team for the remainder of the series.
Jones was extremely keen to have the Cork lady on his team for the series and said she had a special talent.
He told O’Keeffe: “We all think that you’ve something special and we love what you do and you’re coming through loud and clear.
“If you came with me, I would do the best that I can for you.”
The other two judges to turn around, Olly Murs and Meghan Trainor also made their cases to O’Keeffe, but the 31-year-old choose the Welsh superstar.
