An incredible video has been posted online that shows a pair of chariot and horses being raced down a main road in Ireland and swerving in and out of the traffic.
The race, known as a sulky, is believed to have been organised by a group of Irish Travellers, with cars driving behind the two racers to capture the action on video.
The dangerous activity quickly caught the attention of the Gards.
A police car can be seen driving in front of the horses in an attempt to slow them down and guide them to a safe stop at the side of the road.
However, the two men in the chariots repeatedly swerve around the attempted blocks and continued to race.
In the end, all the police can do is attempt to slow the pace of the horses and drive in front to forewarn all other vehicles.
The video captures the race in its entirety, with the car from which the filming is taking place, weaving in and out of the traffic to keep up with the action.
It has been viewed nearly half a million times on YouTube since being posted.
