Irish pianist Brendan Kavanagh has created another great YouTube video, this time with him getting into a playful piano battle with a pensioner.
Kavanagh, aka Mr Boogie Woogie, is an online star thanks to his series of entertaining piano videos that often see him befriending and performing with the commuters and passengers at London’s St Pancras train station.
His latest post features him and an elderly gentleman taking it in turns to wow the gathering crowd with their skills on the ivories.
The performance is great fun as each man sits at the piano and plays for a short while before standing up and letting their rival see if they can impress the crowd more.
Exactly like a dance-off, but with a piano instead of a dancefloor.
Ever the gentleman, Kavanagh starts the round of applause for his musical opponent and declares him the winner.
Kavanagh has a chat with the newcomer, and they agree that they couldn’t perform a duet because they play different styles.
However, the pensioner revealed that his name is Rick Schmull and it is not the first time he has played the piano for a crowd.
He auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent in 2016 and played in front of Simon Cowell. Unfortunately, he wasn’t successful, partly because he dedicated his performance to his cat.
