Staff and residents at an Irish nursing home have become the latest to take up the Jerusalema dance challenge.
The Ealga Lodge nursing home in Birr, County Offaly posted a great video to social media and have challenged other nursing homes and anyone else give it a try.
It follows the recent ongoing dance competition that is taking place between police forces around the world.
It was started by the Swiss police who challenged Ireland’s Garda to show what they could do – the South African police have also taken part with a great routine.
The Irish Garda was up to the challenge and posted a fabulous video which featured forces from all over Ireland with a variety of great Irish backdrops.
The Garda extended the challenge to members of the public, rather than just police forces.
Ealga Lodge showed they were up to the challenge as they performed their routine outside the building.
Some of the staff were excellent dancers and the residents had a real spring in their step as they showed off their moves.
They posted the message: “We are so proud of our amazing team here in Ealga Lodge, where we work hard to create a fun and friendly atmosphere for our residents.
“We are privileged to provide care for the most wonderful group of people and every day is a joy to come to work. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for our next challenge.”
General manager of Eliza Care Stephen Tabb added: “Ealga lodge nursing home is challenging all nursing homes in Ireland to the same!”
It was a fantastic performance and we look forward to seeing if other homes are willing to take on the challenge.
