Irish superstar Niall Horan said he had the ‘worst day of his life’ when he was invited onto The Late Late Show with James Corden.
That was after the British comic set up a prank that ended with a pigeon pooping down the back of poor Horan’s shirt.
The former One Direction singer is currently promoting his new solo album and an appearance on one of America’s most watched entertainment shows is an ideal way to boost his profile.
However, as is often the case with Corden, a horrible prank was not far away.
The pair, who have been friends for years, began by singing one of Niall’s songs in the car and exchanging some banter as they attempted to do each other’s accent.
Corden quickly moved the conversation onto phobias, and Niall admitted he is scared of pigeons.
Seconds later, the video cuts to an open area of grass where Niall is handed a pigeon to hold, and more are placed on his shoulders and head.
The Irish star was visibly uncomfortable and Corden was clearly enjoying his prank.
Pretty soon the inevitable happened as one of the pigeons pooped down the back of the superstar musician.
Corden struggled to hold back his laughter as he wiped the back of Niall’s shirt and joked: “I can’t be responsible for their actions.”
Once cleaned up the pair got back into the car and enjoyed some more Carpool Karaoke before the discussion moved onto Niall’s time in One Direction.
Corden had an action figure of Horan from the peak of the One Direction years and asked him what his now-26-year-old self would say to his model-16-year-old self.
Niall looked at the action figure of his younger self and said: “Your life is about to change, ridiculous amounts, you’re gonna go from living in a small town of about 30,000 people, to living in the biggest cities in the world, and you’re gonna play in stadiums all over the planet in arguably the biggest boyband of all time.”
The singer looked genuinely moved as he took a moment of reflection at his achievements over the past decade.
Both men gave the model an affectionate kiss, before Corden jokingly tossed it aside to the back of the car.
The video also sees Horan talk about some of his foolish moments as a youngster and take a lie detector test under Corden’s supervision.
