This kind-hearted Irish lad has become an online sensation after a video of him putting his jacket over a poor dog tied up in the pouring rain went viral.
Luke Carlin is an employee at the Iceland supermarket in Belfast.
He and his colleagues noticed there was a dog tied up outside, just as the heavens opened and a heavy downpour of rain began.
Luke explained: “The owner was just nipping into the chemist then all of a sudden the rain started.
“Me and a girl who works with me saw the dog, so we agreed to put the jacket over it.
“Then shortly after another girl from my work brought the dog out of the rain.
“The reaction has been so crazy I thought it would have maybe peaked at a few hundred likes on the video when I first initially seen it.”
In fact, the video has been viewed several million times across the internet.
The video was filmed from the shelter of a car parked up outside the Finaghy branch of Iceland.
The person that filmed and posted the video, named Stephen, added: “It’s been crazy how fast it went viral and I didn’t expect it in anyway but I guess it shows how much people appreciate a genuine act of kindness no matter what it is!”
