A joker has posted an advert online offering the abandoned ghost ship as a rental space for househunters.
The housing crisis in Ireland has been the source of great frustration for people, with sky high rents and huge asking prices making it extremely expensive to move.
One Reddit user decided to poke some fun at the situation by advertising the grounded cargo ship as a potential home.
The post advertises the ‘living space’ at a price of €2,500 per month, although it offers no bedrooms, or bathrooms.
The description reads:
“Beautiful coastal location with uninterrupted views of the sea. No electricity but possibility to harness the power of the waves (subject to planning)., running water or electricity.
“Ghosts seem friendly and willing to share the kitchenette.
“No parking but only 6,500km to USA.”
The comical post has proven very popular and been shared thousands of times online.
The ‘ghost ship’ has been the talk of Cork since it washed ashore during the recent extreme weather from Storm Dennis.
It was abandoned in September 2018 following problems onboard during a journey from Greece to Haiti.
The crew were safely rescued but the ship drifted in the Atlantic Ocean for more than a year until Storm Dennis carried it to the Irish coast where it grounded itself.
