A British politician made some glaring errors on live TV when discussing the Irish border issue by getting all the details about Ireland completely wrong.
Tory MP Bernard Jenkin got the name of our former Taoiseach incorrect, and his job title and which country he was actually leading.
Viewers took to Twitter to slam Jenkin for his ignorance and lack of professionalism for a live TV discussion.
The clip came from a Sky News bulletin about the ongoing issue of the Irish border regarding Brexit.
Mr Jenkin said: “If you listen to Bertie Aherne, if you listen to Enda Kelly, these are two former Taoiseachs, Prime Ministers of Northern Ireland, they haven’t quite played ball like the present Irish Prime Minister.”
The inaccuracies are glaring for anyone who knows anything about Ireland.
Firstly, the former Taoiseach’s name is Enda Kenny, not Enda Kelly. Secondly, his role as Taoiseach was as the leader of the Republic of Ireland, not Northern Ireland.
Northern Ireland, as a part of Britain, has the same Prime Minister as the rest of Britain.
Twitter users showed no mercy to Jenkin as you would expect, especially given he is part of the party negotiating the biggest political deals in the history of Britain, the result of which will have a major impact on Ireland.

#SkyNews @bernardjenkin displays typical #Tory knowledge about #Ireland. Quotes Bertie Ahern & Enda Kelly (sic), former "Prime Ministers of Northern Ireland" on #Brexit. You couldn't make this ignorance up!

@SkyNews Is Bernard Jenkin drunk? There is no such place as "Southern Ireland".. Enda Kelly was never PM of NI

Christ. Bernard Jenkin on Sky Nees just referred to “Enda Kelly, former prime minister of Northern Ireland”. These Brexiteer chumps haven’t a clue about the island next door.
