The baby names that are most likely to see your child grow up to be a movie star have been revealed.
Daniel is the boy’s name most likely to see your son turn into a Hollywood star, and follow in the paths of Harry Potter star Radcliffe, 007 heart-throb Craig and legendary Oscar winner Day-Lewis.
As for the girls, Catherine or Katherine is deemed the name most likely to result in your baby girl one day becoming one of Hollywood’s leading ladies as have Ocean’s Twelve star Zeta-Jones, Knocked Up’s Heigl and silver screen legend Hepburn.
The unusual study was carried out by ‘What Are the Odds’ who analysed actors and actresses who have won Golden Globes, Oscars and Baftas.
Though giving your child a name that has seen success in Hollywood before does not guarantee them a shot at the big time, there do appear to be some trends in the data.
Behind Daniel in the list was Adam (Sandler, Driver), Hugh (Grant, Jackman) and Michael (Fassbender, Keaton, Douglas, J Fox and many more).
This is the top ten boy’s name in order:
- Daniel
- Adam
- Hugh
- Michael
- Mark
- Chris
- Tom
- Ryan
- James
- Ben
Behind Catherine in the girls’ names list was Ellen (DeGeneres, Page, Pompeo) and Emma (Thompson, Watson, Stone).
Thelma actually ranked third in the list for girl’s names, and although there have been many talented actresses throughout history (Ritter, Houston, Barlow, Schoonmaker), there are no big name Thelmas currently plying their trade in tinseltown.
This is the top ten girl’s name in order:
- Catherine/Katherine
- Ellen
- Thelma
- Emma
- Jodie
- Amy
- Jade
- Natalie
- Emily
- Elizabeth/Elisabeth
WhatAreTheOdds founder Spencer James said: “We created this list as a nod to 2020’s award season but really as a parent, if you could give your child the opportunity to make a difference to others, as well as the potential for them to earn a lot of money, you’d definitely consider it! I’m not surprised that mums and dads might look to film stars for inspiration when naming their children, media can play such a big part in our lives that there’s no wonder people would tap into it.
“Who knows why there’s such a common theme with certain names, but the data does show that people with these names seem to enjoy a great deal of success! There seems to be a lot more to a name than we initially thought, and if it can give people a head start, it might be something worth considering for expectant parents.”
