One of the most talented YouTubers from Ireland has got involved in the debate about the upcoming same-sex marriage referendum.
Animated comedy character Martin is a YouTube star thanks to his series of videos, Martin’s Life, in which he discusses topical issues with his parents.
The series of cartoons involve everyday discussions between young Irish people and their parents, and comically illustrate the cultural divide between the generations.
This time, Martin is discussing the upcoming same-sex marriage referendum with his parents, who are not quite sure exactly what it will mean.
As in the previous videos, Martin patiently explains and corrects his parents when he can, but is sometimes just left bemused as to what else he can say. Like when his dad asks him if he will have to marry a gay fella then?
‘Martin’s Life Referendum’ was only posted today, but will surely gather up thousands of views in the next few weeks.

In the past, Martin has had discussions with his parents about Game of Thrones, What a Small World and Skinny Jeans.
The upcoming same-sex marriage referendum has been hotly discussed and debated in Ireland in recent months. Many high profile figures have had their say on whether they will be voting yes or no in the referendum including comedy character Mrs Brown.
A priest in Donegal sparked a walkout from his church after delivering an anti same-sex marriage sermon, and one woman even asked her 101 year old grandmother what she thought about it.
There was also controversy after a model couple who are for same-sex marriage, were used in posters campaigning against it.
