Irish Mammy receives perfect Christmas surprise

An Irish Mammy was given the perfect surprise after she won a Christmas hamper from her local radio station.
Noreen O’Meara is a regular listener of Red FM in Co Cork. She was told she had won a competition for ‘Mother of the Year’ and that the prize was a delicious Christmas hamper with turkey, trimmings and all.
However, what she didn’t know was that her daughter Eve had been in contact with the radio station wanting to make her surprise homecoming extra special.
Eve has lived in Australia for four years and not been back in that time. She had told her mum that she would not be able to get back again this year as the cost of a flight is so expensive.
Red FM arranged for the delivery of the Christmas hamper to Noreen’s home in Coppen, Co Cork, and filmed the magical moment she opened the box and her daughter jumped out.
Noreen was clearly overwhelmed by the whole thing saying: “I’m gobsmacked. I couldn’t believe it. It was such a fantastic surprise.”
Eve was equally thrilled to be able to give her mum such a magical surprise. She said: “Surprising my mother was the most amazing and surreal experience. She was totally shocked. I think she might still be reeling from it actually! She’s been telling everyone about it.
“I’m so excited to be home with all my family and to be able to enjoy Christmas Day with everyone here. I think this will be the most memorable Christmas I’ve ever had.”
