James Bond star Pierce Brosnan has taken his Malibu mansion off the market after it failed to sell despite being on the market for more than a year.
Brosnan built the mansion with his wife Keely after recording the 2002 movie Die Another Day.
The couple raised their two sons Dylan and Paris in the home, but they have now grown up and flown the nest.
Pierce and Keely have relocated to the island of Kauai in Hawaii and decided the time was right to sell the family home.
However, it failed to sell, with buyers possibly being put off by the huge €85m asking price.
The couple have chosen to take the home off the market rather than lower their asking price.
It is an understandable decision, with Pierce and Keely having designed and built the home themselves, and then raised their two children in it.
Brosnan explained that the property was inspired by their trip to Thailand, and the eastern architecture and design is prominent throughout. It took around ten years to design and build and they named the home Orchid House.
They began the project while Brosnan was filming Die Another Day. The Mamma Mia star said: “I said to Keely, ‘Go build your dream house.’ And she did.”
It offers unbelievable luxury with 12,500-square-feet of living space and five bedrooms. The property overlooks the ocean and features a gym, a spa, a cinema, and a bar.
If the Brosnans choose to keep hold of Orchid House for the time being, it will certainly offer them a suitable holiday getaway, for when they fancy a break from their new home in Hawaii.
