Garath Keating is not your average town mayor. The Co Armagh official has starred in an entertaining video promoting the county’s shopping facilities.
When you say town mayor, you might expect to see a stuffy, prim and proper middle aged man in a suit and tie displaying plenty of reserved dignity.
Not this guy! Garath Keating is the fun-loving, disco-dancing, quick-stepping Mayor of Co Armagh.
The video was produced to celebrate the 40th birthday of the Rushmore Shopping Centre in Craigavon.
Keating’s official title is the Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, he kind of looks more like someone out of one of those cool rock bands you can’t remember the name of.
The video shows off several of the centre’s shops, and also plenty of the Lord Mayor’s best dance moves, with a medley classic disco tunes such as the Bee Gee’s Stayin’ Alive, Hanson’s MMMBop, Michael Jackson’s Beat It and Bruno Mars with Uptown Funk.
