Even Ryan Tubridy has admitted he didn’t want Katie Hopkins on his show this week!
The announcement earlier this week that controversial Katie Hopkins will be a guest on The Late Late Show was met by anger and dismay by many in Ireland.
Now, even Tubs himself has admitted that Hopkins was not his pick, and that it was a “team decision”.
Katie Hopkins has made a career out of making controversial comments, such as when she offended presenter Angela Scanlon by suggesting that the Irish are ‘almost civilised’.
Many people took to social media to call for a boycott of the Late Late Show in protest at Hopkins being invited on.
However, even host Ryan Tubridy has revealed he didn’t want her either. He told reporters: “I didn’t personally want her on. It was a team decision, Katie Hopkins does the job, she comes on and expresses an opinion that is contrary and difficult, but it starts a conversation.
“It’s been a very controversial week on the globe, with a very controversial result in America, and we’re going to reflect that with a very controversial guest.”
Meanwhile, Hopkins hit back at the critics in typical fashion, by tweeting: “In my experience, lefty lovers are braver behind their sticky keyboards, flossing their teeth with their toenails.
“Ireland. We voted for Brexit. America voted for Trump. Get over it.”
If you want to see what else Hopkins has to say they you can tune in to watch her on The Late Late Show tonight.
