The ten wealthiest Irish entertainers have been revealed in the latest Sunday Times Rich List – and what a talented bunch they are.
The list includes stars who have enjoyed global success and have entertained millions of people for decades.
Given the huge pool of talent in Ireland there is not even space for the likes of Colin Farrell, the Corrs, Jamie Dornan, Saoirse Ronan, Graham Norton, Gabriel Byrne or Michael Fasbender in the top ten.
The list is mostly made up of actors and musicians, although some of the stars are also producers, activists and entrepreneurs.
It won’t come as a surprise to most to see that stadium rock superstars U2 are at the top of the list.
They are followed by the husband and wife pairing of Mark Burnett and Roma Downey, who between them, as producers, actors, authors and singers, have a list of film and television accolades as long as the Wild Atlantic Way.
Irish American legend Michael Flatley – who retired in 2016 after a stellar Irish dancing career – is third in the list.
There are a number of actors on the list including Daniel Day Lewis – the only man in history to win the Oscar for Best Actor on three occasions.
The youngest person on the list is One Direction star Niall Horan.
