Supermodel Daria Werbowy has said her admiration for Sinéad O’Connor was one of the key factors in her decision to move to Ireland.
Lancôme and Vogue model, Werbowy recently turned 30 was interviewed by the US issue of fashion magazine Harper’s Bazaar. She spoke about her admiration for O’Connor and the stance she took in her public row with US music star Miley Cyrus: “I love Sinéad O’Connor. She’s part of the reason I went to Ireland, I think, subconsciously. I love the letter she wrote to Miley Cyrus. It was brilliant.”
“Never in a million years did I think I’d be living there, but I never thought I’d be a successful model either.”
The Ukrainian-Canadian beauty began modelling at 14, and spoke about how she intends to reduce her workload now and enjoy a stress free life: “I took a risk a couple of years ago where I decided to do the minimal amount that I could get away with, because I physically and mentally couldn’t handle it anymore.
“And it’s like, you have everything you want, what you dreamt of is coming true, you can’t buy anything else to make you happy, so then you think, Well, what else is there? And you have to leave.”
Werbowy currently lives in Cork with her Irish boyfriend, whose identity is unknown. The two are happy living their life privately away from the cameras and public eye.
