Irish superstar Shane Long has been named as the country’s sexiest football player.
The Southampton forward is used to scoring on the pitch, and it seems he would have no trouble scoring off it either, although sorry ladies, he is happily married to his beautiful wife Kayleah.
The Tipperary native Long was named the sexiest player in the Irish squad by website IllicitEncounters.com, which surveyed 1,000 of their female Irish members. The site caters for people in unhappy marriages wishing to have an affair, so Long’s admirers could be accused of having questionable morals.
However, the 29-year-old came out on top of the poll, with 14% of the voters naming him the sexiest member of Martin O’Neill’s squad.
Long is regularly the hero for his side with his goals earning crucial points and victories. It was Long who scored the winning goal when Ireland beat world champions Germany to help secure their place at this year’s European Championships.
He certainly doesn’t lack confidence and can sing too. This video, which was recently posted online, shows Long serenading his Southampton team-mates with his own version of Frank Sinatra’s My Way.

Other players to score highly in the poll were Derby’s Jeff Hendrick finishing second with 10% of the votes and veteran goalkeeper Shay Given coming third with 8%.
Christian Grant of IllicitEncounters.com said: “With an incredibly tough draw, very few fans and pundits have given the Republic of Ireland much hope in this summer’s European Championships.
“But, should they exit early as many expect, at least they’ll look pretty damn good doing it.”
The poll also included some less desirable titles for the Irish players, with veteran defender John O’Shea winning the ‘I Don’t Care How Rich You Are, It’s Still a No’ award.
Everton’s flying fullback Seamus Coleman won the ‘Only After 5 Beers’ award and Stoke City enforcer Glenn Whelan was named ‘Least Likely to Last the 90 Minutes’.
