A choir of schoolchildren from Ireland wowed Britain’s Got Talent with an outstanding rendition of the pop song Roar by singer Katy Perry.
But the performance was not without incident as moments before the youngsters began singing, hosts Ant and Dec ran onto the stage to stop the act due to ‘technical issues’.
The choir could not hear the backing track being played, meaning they did not know when to begin their performance so Ant and Dec quickly stepped in to restore some order.
Once the sound technicians had got everything back on track, the choir delivered a rousing performance of the powerful pop song Roar, with brilliant vocal harmonies and dance movements to grab the attention of the viewers.
The kids are from St Patrick’s Primary School in Drumgreenagh, Northern Ireland.
Led by their music teacher Patricia, the choir stunned judges at their audition with a charming and energetic rendition of Somewhere Only We Know.
It was enough to get them a spot on the live semi-finals and although their performance started a bit awkwardly, the kids did themselves proud.
Unfortunately the public didn’t vote them through the live finals, with Sheffield singer Kyle Tomlinson and magician/illusionists DNA taking the two available spots.
However, the performance was still a memorable one by St Patrick’s Junior Choir and will live long in the memory of all who saw it.
Take a look for yourself below.
Here was the choir’s audition which earnt them their place in the semi-finals.
