Derry Girls star Saoirse-Monica Jackson has spoken about her life before she found fame on the hit show – including a lie told for months to impress her boyfriend.
Jackson stars as Erin Quinn on the modern classic comedy series and has the world at her feet.
With the third and final series of the show about to conclude, her agent’s phone will be ringing off the hook.
She is set to star alongside the likes of Michael Keaton, Ben Affleck, Erza Miller and Kiersey Clemons in superhero movie The Flash, and has another film, Coffee Wars, set for release in 2022.
However, it wasn’t always a life a glitz and glamour for Jackson and before she hit the big time she worked as a door to door salesperson for Hello Fresh.
However, she didn’t want her boyfriend to know that so told him that she worked in a fancy office in town.
She even got him to take her for a ride – as she was taking him for a ride.
Jackson told Kevin Paints star Kevin McGahern: “I was living with my boyfriend and I was lying to him telling him that I had a sales job in town.
“He was dropping me into town everyday to an office block and I would run around the corner and get into a car and sell Hello Fresh door to door.”
The star admits she wasn’t the best fit for the job as her conscience wouldn’t allow her to persuade customers to buy something they didn’t need.
She would sit down in customers’ houses, most of whom were elderly, and have tea and biscuits and a chat.
However, when the time came to clinch the sale, she would tell them not to as the product didn’t suit them.
