The workshop took place at Trinity College Dublin and was ran by Riverdance Associate Director Padraic Moyles.

Students that excel have the chance to be picked to join the dance troupe on tour provided they are over 18 years of age.
Participants travelled from all corners of the world to take part in the course.
One girl from America said that it has always been her dream to be a part of Riverdance. She added that she has made lots of friends during the course although it is hard work doing the training every day.
Riverdance created a real passion and enthusiasm for Irish dancing when it was first performed during the Eurovision Song Contest in 1994. Since then, Irish dancing has become a major industry with shows selling out in theatres all around the world.
The global appeal of Riverdance is demonstrated by the 23 different nationalities of students who attended the summer course. As well as coming from Ireland, the UK, Canada and America, dancers also flocked from as far as Japan, South Korea, Mexico and Brazil.
Moyles explained “It is a crash course. We teach them and give them a little bit of insight in to the background of ‘Riverdance’ as well and what else happens when you try to be a professional dancer.”
The Irish Independent created a short video of the course. Take a look at it below.
