Fiona told the Irish Mirror that they were “overwhelmed – in a good way”.
Red is the Rose is an old folk tune that has been sang in Ireland for many years.
It was brought to the public attention by Liam Clancy and Tommy Makem.
Red is the Rose tells the story of a romance between two lovers, who tragically have to separate as the woman must leave Ireland.
Emigration was, and still is, a common occurrence amongst Irish people. The economic conditions forced many families to leave their homes to start a new life abroad.
Of course, behind each statistic of those people who left, there are countless personal stories and lives changed forever.
