They have proved a big hit in recent years with some of their videos racking up more than more than a million views online.

As well as being great fun, the videos are professionally produced and choreographed and compare to the official music videos of any of the established pop superstars they imitate.

The students even throw a bit of Irish dancing into the videos to give them that extra Celtic twist.

Some of the latest successes from Coláiste Lurgan include their Irish version of OMI’s summer hit of 2015 Cheerleader. They have also translated and performed the supercool Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson track Uptown Funk.

Coláiste Lurgan runs classes each summer in Galway. Their website states their sole mission is “to promote Gaeilge, the cornerstone of Irish identity and culture”.

Students can enrol for either the 22 day course (€900) or the 15 day course (€680). For more information about Coláiste Lurgan then visit lurgan.biz/.
