Hollywood star Liam Neeson has teamed up with Tourism Ireland to produce a promotional St Patrick’s Day video.
The Irish actor narrates the video as it starts by showing scenes of how the ‘world goes green’ on St Patrick Day, before heading back to Ireland and showing images of the stunning scenery.
The Taken star told the Irish Mirror: “I’m delighted to be helping Tourism Ireland celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
“It will be wonderful to see the world turn green again on 17 March as nations come together to celebrate the fun and warmth of the Irish.”
There are striking pictures of some of the world’s most famous landmarks – such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa, Rio’s Christ the Redeemer, the Sydney Opera House and Paris’ Moulin Rouge Windmill – lit up in green against the night sky.
Neeson says: “Here in Ireland, every day is bathed in green.”
It then goes into a montage of some of the country’s great beauty spots, historical sites and modern attractions. These include places such as Newgrange, the Titanic Building and the rocky coastline.
Finally the video focuses on the people of Ireland. They are seen shopping in Cork’s English Market, playing musical instruments and socialising in the bar.
Neeson says: “You are always welcomed with a smile.”
Finally, the minute long video closes with people enjoying the St Patrick’s Day parade.
