The Late Late Show will broadcast a live episode on St Patrick’s Day with a celebration of all things Irish.
Some of the most skilful performers in the country will take part in the show as Ryan Tubridy and his team showcase the amazing talents we have here in Ireland.
The show will broadcast live from the Limerick University Concert Hall on the evening of St Patrick’s Day.
Host Ryan Tubridy wants the show to celebrate the Ireland’s culture and history, and showcase the great holiday options we have for Irish people as well as foreign visitors.
Speaking ahead of the St Patrick’s Day special, he said: “Part of this is that we want to encourage people to spend at home.
“And yes, when we do the show in Limerick you will have a thousand people and they will need somewhere to stay and they will be eating there.
“We will be there with the radio team from Thursday so we will have two days of advanced teams and crew so it will be good for the city and county.
“Ultimately, it is about the best of Irish so it will be a national programme coming from Limerick, saying that we are not so bad ourselves.
“Our nearest neighbours are in turmoil to be honest and we are doing, OK.
“We could do better and as a TV show we can prop this mirror up and say ‘look, we are doing ok, keep the chin up’.
“It is meant to be positive, there is too much negative knocking around at the minute and I hate it. We are just trying to flip that a bit.”
