An independent Irish cafe has taken on the huge retail giants such as John Lewis and M&S by releasing its own Christmas advert.
John Lewis has gained a reputation over the years for tugging at customers heartstrings with their Christmas adverts.
However, even without the endless budgets of the big brands the Yummy Cafe in Tralee has created a video called ‘Christmas Is Better Together’ – and it is equally moving.
Yummy Cafe’s advert is filmed in black and white, apart from one aspect. At the start of the advert an elderly man is sat on a bench as the snow begins to fall.
He looks at his watch and gets up to walk away.
In another part of town, a girl wearing bright pink shoes is skipping down the street. The advert then follows the two of them on their separate journeys until they meet up.
They hold hands and walk into Yummy Café and the grandfather has a spring back in his step. The advert ends with the hashtag reunite and caption ‘Christmas Is Better Together’.
It has gone down a storm on social media with many viewers saying they were moved to tears.
