It no longer comes as a surprise when Irish cities are named amongst the world’s best places to visit.
Dublin, Galway, Belfast and Cork are just a few of our proud and vibrant cities that are regularly named as ‘must visit’ places for tourists.
The latest compilation from BuzzFeed lists the ‘10 Places to Visit In 2020 No Matter How You Like to Travel’.
And of course, Ireland has an entry in the list.
Galway is named as the fourth place on the list for tourists to visit this year.
BuzzFeed writer Kirby Beaton writes:
Who’ll love it: history buffs
Why go in 2020: Galway is one of the European Capitals of Culture this year, and it’s easy to see why. With its blend of trendy shops and restaurants (thanks in part to its large student population), historic bridges, and stone buildings, this city has it all.
What to do: Visit the 18th century Eyre Square in the heart of the city for a slice of history, and then stop by Glasshouse for modern drinks with a farm-to-table twist.
Where to stay: Galway Bay Hotel, Glenlo Abbey Hotel & Estate, Weir Haven Boutique Bed & Breakfast, Clarinbridge
Fourth in the list of places to visit in 2020 is a proud achievement for Galway, and it was the only Irish destination to be named in the top 10.
