Two men held in probe into £1.2bn 'bad bank' property deal
Fraud squad chiefs have arrested two men in Northern Ireland in connection with a record £1.2 billion property deal. Searches were also carried out in Co Down as part of inquiries into the sale of assets and property loans by Ireland’s “bad bank”, the National Assets Management Agency (Nama), to US investment fund Cerberus.
Taoiseach calls Trump comments “racist and dangerous”
Taoiseach Enda Kenny has said that comments made by Donald Trump were “racist and dangerous” in a move that is sure to strain US-Irish relations should the Republican be elected President. Mr Kenny made the comment in response to a question posed by an opposition TD about possibility of Trump becoming the next US President.
Two newborn deaths at Cavan General Hospital probed
Health chiefs have launched investigations following the deaths of two newborn babies within days of each other in Cavan General Hospital. It is understood one infant died on Sunday morning after an emergency Caesarean section was ordered. The baby died before delivery.

Irish airports handled 30 million passengers last year
Almost 30 million people flew in and out of Ireland’s main airports last year – the largest number since the record in 2008. Dublin was by far the busiest, accounting for almost 84% of travellers, while Cork and Knock were the only airports not to increase their numbers on the previous year.
Amazon to take on 500 more workers in Dublin
Internet giant Amazon is to hire another 500 workers in Ireland. The online retailer and media company, which has bases in Dublin and Cork, said the new jobs will be filled over the next two years.

Government to spend five million euro on more aid for Syria and Yemen
Five million euro is being spent by the Government on more aid for people affected by the wars in Syria and Yemen. Foreign Affairs Minister Charlie Flanagan said recent attacks on hospitals and medical facilities were appalling and he condemned the blocking of convoys of medicines, food and baby food.
