Man shot dead in 'gangland attack'

A middle-aged man who was an associate of a suspected armed robber embroiled in a bloody gangland feud has been shot dead. The 55 year old, said to be friends with Gerry Hutch, known in crime circles as The Monk, was gunned down in a car outside his home in Ratoath, Co Meath.

Man arrested in dissident republican murder probe

A man in his 30s has been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of a well known dissident republican last month. The suspect was detained on Saturday afternoon in west Dublin and is being held at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
