A man has died after being knocked down in Co Limerick.
The accident, involving a car and a pedestrian, happened in the townland of Gooig, Castleconnell at about 6.15am on Sunday.
Gardai said the man’s body has been taken to University Hospital, Limerick where a post mortem will take place.
The driver of the car was not hurt.
The road has been closed to traffic while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out enquiries. Diversions have been put in place.
Gardai want to hear from anyone who may have travelled in Gooig or in the vicinity of Daly’s Cross between 6am and 6.30am to contact them at Henry Street Garda Station on 061 212400.
