The body of a man has been found off Co Clare by teams searching for a man missing for the last week.
The Doolin Coast Guard unit recovered the body in an area known as Doonacore Bay, south of Doolin Point.
The man’s body was initially spotted shortly after 8am by members of the team as they carried out the latest shoreline search.
A man in his 60s had been reported missing since last Friday after his car remained at a car park near the Cliffs of Moher overnight.
The Coast Guard unit said they used a rigid inflatable to recover the body from the shoreline and a post mortem and formal identification was being carried out at Ennis General Hospital.
