Bridesmaid Triona Ní Chualáin decided to use the tune but add some lyrics of her own to provide an hilarious and moving wedding speech for the happy couple, Fiona and Fergus Folan from Connemara.
Guests at the wedding reception at the Salthill Hotel in Galway joined with the chorus toasting the couple and roared with laughter at such gems as this.
He got down on one knee,
Asked will you marry me
And so they set the date,
Fiona told me to lose weight
So I turned my face away
And dreamed of takeaways
