Irish star Sinéad O’Connor has described US President Donald Trump as the ‘devil incarnate’ – but added that she still expects him to be re-elected.
The US election is still scheduled to take place on 3rd November, although campaigning has taken a back seat due to the coronavirus pandemic which is not only dominating the news but also makes it impossible for candidates to hold large rallies.
When attention turns back to the Presidential election, Trump’s rival is likely to be Democrat Joe Biden.
While O’Connor is no fan of Trump, she feels that Biden doesn’t have what the American public are looking for in a President.
The 53-year-old told the Irish Sun: “Yes. Obviously, Trump is the devil incarnate but he will be re-elected because there isn’t a candidate with the same amount of testosterone as Trump.
“Joe Biden simply doesn’t have it and that’s what people want — testosterone.”
The coronavirus pandemic has also caused O’Connor to have to cancel several shows that she had lined up, including a performance at the 50th anniversary of the UK’s Glastonbury festival.
However, the star remains philosophical and prefers to count her blessings.
She said: “I have savings which I’m going to need as I don’t earn anything like I used to.
“But I know I’m lucky compared to many musicians who live from gig to gig and are trying to take care of themselves and their families.
“I’m hoping that the Government is going to help musicians, actors, people in the arts. Everybody is panicked.”
