Hollywood star Saoirse Ronan has revealed she cannot wait to get back home to Ireland for Christmas so she can slob out in her pyjamas.
The actress was speaking to Seth Myers ahead of the release of the re-make of Little Women in which she stars alongside Emma Watson and movie legend Meryl Streep.
Myers jokingly asked if Hollywood great Meryl had been nervous to work with the 25-year-old Ronan to which she replied: “She hid it well.”
Ronan then spoke about the reality of working alongside one of her idols and how she felt emotional once the pair’s final scene together had been shot.
The conversation then turned to Christmas and Ronan explained: “I’m going back to Ireland for a bit and preparing myself for the cold and I’m just going to sit in my pyjamas all day.”
She also proudly stated that she had got all her Christmas shopping done already, and that she prefers the “modern way” of doing it all online.
She said: “When you go into shops, I just find an hour in, there’s too many people, it’s loud, my back hurts and I can’t stand for this long.
“I’m organised this year, I had more time because I basically haven’t worked in about six months so I’ve had a lot of time on my hands so I got online early and I got all my presents a few months in advance.”
Ronan will be hoping that 2020 starts with a Golden Globe award to add to her trophy cabinet after she was nominated for Best Actress for her role in Little Women.
The awards ceremony will take place on 5th January and will be hosted by Ricky Gervais.
