It contains some incredible footage of the beautiful landscapes and coastlines of Ireland, and the endless possibilities there are to explore and find something new.

There are countless hidden gems scattered across all corners of the island and it only takes an adventurous spirit and a little bit of luck to find them.

The video sees adventurers cycling, kayaking, hiking, driving and surfing their way across the breathtaking countryside.

The narrator says: “The first maps didn’t look like much – small, simple and scarce.

“But when people started to explore beyond the know to the wonders unknown the maps began to grow and so did their worlds.

“Wondering strange new lands; climbing the highest peaks; crossing the seven seas; grappling monsters of the deep.

“Yes there was danger to be faced, but oh what adventure, what joy.

“New people to meet, and even when they thought the map was finished there was even more to explore.

“Ireland – keep discovering.”

The background music is also Irish as it is an instrumental version of Dublin songwriter Dermot Kennedy’s hit Power Over Me.

The video was posted as a Tweet by Discover Ireland and has been shared liked hundreds of times, and received plenty of positive comments.
