GAA release epic Game of Thrones style video to promote new hurling season

After yesterday’s nail biting All Ireland Hurling semi-final between which saw Galway edge past Tipperary, we know who Kilkenny will be facing in the final at Croke Park.
It has been a great season so far and the match yesterday was up there with the best. It gives us another chance to look at the superb ‘Game of Thrones’ style promo video that the GAA released earlier this year.
The video promo is from the official GAA YouTube channel and features footage taken around some of the most striking parts of Ireland – giving it a medieval feel.

It features several GAA stars – including Inter-county players Cian Lynch (Limerick), Danny Sutcliffe (Dublin), Shane O’Donnell (Clare), Lee Chin (Wexford), Cork Camogie captain Ashling Thompson and former Cork star Diarmaid O’Sullivan – who all show off their silky skills.
As the players are juggling the ball with their hurling sticks, they are standing in the middle of fields or at the top of towers.
Others are looking out to sea or sailing across the water in a row boat, all looking like they are preparing for battle.
Teams will be plotting epic victories over their rivals this season and will hopefully provide us with some clashes that will live long in the memory.
Sports such as Hurling and Gaelic Football are extremely popular in Ireland and have also been growing in popularity overseas especially in countries such as the UK and the US where there are large Irish communities.
The All Ireland Hurling final between Kilkenny and Galway will take place n 6th September at Croke Park.
