Hundreds of Dubliners will appear in epic battle scenes in a movie featuring Hollywood superstars Matt Damon and Ben Affleck.
The Good Will Hunting actors are in Ireland to film their latest film The Last Duel and the production team wants to recruit hundreds of extras to play the crowds in epic battle scenes.
Open auditions will be held in Dublin’ Liberty Hall all day on Friday 21st February.
Applicants do not need to have any experience in acting but must be over 18 and legally allowed to work in Ireland.
The Duel is a period drama based on a book by Eric Jager. The film is set in medieval France and features a duel to the death between two soldiers after one accuses the other of assaulting his wife.
The two lead roles are played by Matt Damon and Adam Driver. Ben Affleck also has a supporting role in the movie.
The epic battle scenes will feature crowds of hundreds of bloodthirsty onlookers, and many of them will be local Dublin residents.
The auditions should take no more than about 20 minutes, and applicants do not need an appointment, just turn up between 10am and 6pm.
Filming will take place in Co Meath and the film should be ready for release towards the end of 2020 or early 2021.
It is being directed by Hollywood legend Ridley Scott, and long-time friends Damon and Affleck will also have key roles in the production.
It offers a great opportunity for Dubliners to work with some of the biggest names in Hollywood and appear in a film that could well go down as one of the all-time greats.
Good luck to all who decide to give it a go.
