A hotel in Derry has created a walking tour that pays homage to the popular Channel 4 comedy Derry Girls.
The hijinx of Erin, Orla, Clare, Michelle and James made the show a huge hit and fans can now visit some of the places featured.
Hastings Everglades Hotel have created the Derry Girls Walking tour to give their guests an extra option of something to do during their stay.
The tour visits sites from the show such as Dennis’ Wee Shop, the Long Tower Church where the group witnessed the ‘miracle’ of the statue of Mary crying, the Free Derry Wall and Guidhall where President Clinton spoke to the people of Northern Ireland in 1995.
It also visits the Derry Girls mural which was painted in the city as a tribute to the show.
The walking tour is part of a package offered by Hastings that includes an overnight stay and afternoon tea for €115 per person.
There is the option to stay at the hotel without going on the walking tour, but why would anybody choose to miss out?
Hastings Hotel has also created a Derry Girls themed menu with foods frequently seen in the show such as a cream horn, a cone of chips, sausage roll baps, and the Irish classic Tayto Cheese and Onion crisp sandwich.
The offer is sure to generate a lot of interest amongst fans of the show.
Writer Lisa Magee has promised a third series is already been planned and we all wait patiently for its release.
