Irish comedian Aisling Bea will star in the latest Disney+ blockbuster movie which is next instalment of the Home Alone franchise.
Home Alone is one of the most iconic films of the 1990s and the sequel Home Alone II: Lost in New York further cemented their place as Hollywood classics.
Further sequels did not have the same star-studded casts and huge production budgets but the latest movie in the franchise has Disney+ behind it and is expected to be a major hit.
The film is titled Home Sweet Home Alone and child star Archie Yates of JoJo Rabbit fame plays the lead role.
The cast has plenty of famous faces and star names amongst it such as Ellie Kemper (American Office), Rob Delaney (Catastrophe), Kenan Thompson (Saturday Night Live) and Chris Parnell (30 Rock).
There is even a cameo appearance by the original Home Alone star Macauley Culkin who played Kevin McAllister in the first two movies. Devin Ratray, the actor who played Kevin’s mean older brother Buzz, also returns to the franchise to appear in the film.
Bea will be delighted to land a role in such a huge movie. Her career has gone from strength to strength over the past few years.
She starred opposite Paul Rudd in the Netflix sci-fi series Living With Yourself and has also written and starred in the second series of her own sitcom This Way Up.
The role in the latest Home Alone movie is another sign of the upward trajectory she is on.
Similarly to the other movies, Home Sweet Home Alone follows the plot of a kid at home on his own defending it from an attempted robbery.
This time the thieves are a married couple wanting to steal an expensive heirloom from the family home.
It will be released on the Disney+ subscription service on 12 November, just in time for Christmas.
