Comedy legend Billy Connolly has returned to the screens to take a look back at his incredible career.
Billy Connolly Does… will be broadcast on Gold and sees the much-loved Scot reflect on his long and successful career in comedy.
Connolly has been a hugely popular figure in show business for more than six decades.
He started out as a folk singer and has worked with Irish music legends including Christy Moore in his early days.
He has since become a comedy great with his wonderful storytelling and kind-hearted nature.
Unfortunately, Connolly was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2013 and made the decision to stop performing a few years later.
However, he has agreed to shoot a new series for Gold in which he looks back at his career and life.
The series will feature five episodes, with Connolly discussing a different topic in each one including work, love, childhood and parenthood.
The funnyman said: “I’m really looking forward to sharing a few of my favourite moments from over the years … it’s been brilliant, and I hope you’ll come along for the ride!”
As well as reflecting on the past, Connolly will also talk about his present and future on the show. He currently lives in Florida with his wife Pamela Stephenson.
The show is bound to be popular with viewers and also the production team who work on it.
Iain Coyle, head of comedy entertainment for UKTV which is creating the show, said: “So, this is a career highlight, working with one of, if not THE, greatest comedians of all time.
“I feel incredibly privileged that Billy and his family have given us access, not only to his incredible archive, but also to their everyday lives.”
