Brendan Grace is renowned for his razor sharp wit and observational comedy. He was born in Dublin, and his first steps into show business were as part of a folk band called the Gingermen.
Grace actually discovered his own ability to tell jokes one day, when the band were missing a couple of their members and were due to go on stage. They sent Grace up to talk to the crowd and buy them some time, and he soon had the entire room in fits of hysterics with his storytelling and quick wit. From then on, Grace worked as a stand-up comedian.
He has had a long and successful career, appearing on shows alongside world megastars such as Frank Sinatra. In fact, Sinatra was a big fan of Grace, and referred to him as his ‘man in Europe’.
Grace is also famous for his comedy schoolboy character Bottler, and for his song I’ve Got a Brand New Combine Harvester, which became a number one hit for The Wurzels in the UK Charts in 1976.
