Irish crooner Daniel O’Donnell delighted fans when he went back to his roots on the BBC’s celebrity dancing show ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.
The smooth Co Donegal man promised his dance would have a ‘big Irish feel’ for the first live performance of the series.
And he didn’t disappoint when he and his dance partner Kristina Rihanoff waltzed to the classic song ‘When Irish Eyes are Smiling’.
O’Donnell had earlier appeared on RTÉ One’s Today programme to talk about how things were going on Strictly.
He said: “They’re very strict. Strictly is definitely a good name, in what we tell and don’t tell. And it was only just announced a couple of days ago what we’re all dancing.
“I’m doing a waltz and I’m doing it to ‘When Irish Eyes Are Smiling’. There’s a big Irish feel to it, so it’s really lovely.
“And I just hope it works out well and it looks good and that I enjoy it as much as I want to.”
O’Donnell needn’t have worried as he and Kristina looked great. They put in a performance full of class and O’Donnell had the audience eating out of the palm of his hand.
