Two Irish students have been injured in a coach crash in Spain which killed 13 women. “We can confirm that two Irish people received non-life threatening injuries in this morning’s bus crash in Tarragona, Spain,” a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade spokesman said, adding: “We stand ready to provide consular assistance.”

TD Michael Healy-Rae recovering from cow injury
An Independent TD is said to be recovering well after being injured by a cow on his farm. Michael Healy-Rae was being kept in hospital in Cork after suffering a number of injuries when he was hit by the animal which had been calving.

A man in his 30s has been arrested by detectives investigating the murder of a well known dissident republican last month. The suspect was detained on Saturday afternoon in west Dublin and is being held at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 50 of the Criminal Justice Act.
