Home of the Year 2018 winners

Take a look inside the Wicklow farmhouse cottage that was named Home of the Year 2018.

The charming property is owned by Ros and Patrick Walshe, and they were crowned champions of the popular RTÉ series Home of the Year.

The judges on the show were full of praise for the design and character of the home.

Hugh Wallace said: “This was a home of creativity, colour, contrast and personality.”

Deirdre Whelan felt that the couple had “created a magical home”.

Proud Ros and Patrick bought the house back in 1990 when their son was just six years old.

The couple both have added their individual and shared touches to the home over the years.

Patrick is an artist and has used several of his paintings to add character to the family home.

As the creative director of Mayo town Avoca, Ros has also had plenty of influence on the interior design of the house.
The proud homeowners were thrilled with their award, saying: “It’s lovely that it’s recognised as something because, for us, it’s just our home.”
