Pensioner killed in Tipperary collision

A man in his early 70s has died following a road crash in Co Tipperary.
The incident happened when the car the man was driving collided with another vehicle at Fortmoy Cross, Borrisokane, at about 5.15pm on Sunday.


The victim was the sole occupant of his car. A woman in her mid 60s, who was driving the other vehicle, was taken to Limerick University Hospital with serious injuries.
The road is currently closed while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators carry out an examination of the scene. Diversions have been put in place.
Gardai have appealed for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
